Siemens Healthineers will provide multiple diagnostic imaging and therapeutic technologies to Cleveland Clinic.
July 30, 2026
By: Michael Barbella
Siemens Healthineers and Cleveland Clinic are expanding their 35-year relationship through a new 10-year, strategic alliance designed to foster clinical and workflow innovation that further enhances patient care and operational efficiency across the health system’s locations.
Through this strategic alliance, the organizations will work together to build on Cleveland Clinic’s leadership in diagnostic imaging, cardiology and radiation oncology, provide clinical teams with innovative tools and advanced training, and create a more personalized experience for patients.
“This strategic alliance with Siemens Healthineers will help us bring more consistent, connected and advanced imaging and treatment services to our patients,” said Peter Liu, M.D., chair of Enterprise Imaging at Cleveland Clinic. “By aligning technology, service and clinical support more closely across our global health system, we can improve access, increase efficiency and create a better experience for patients. This collaboration builds on a strong foundation and positions us to continue innovating for the benefit of our patients and communities.”
Under the strategic alliance, Siemens Healthineers will provide multiple diagnostic imaging and therapeutic technologies to Cleveland Clinic, including magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, and X-ray. In addition, Siemens Healthineers will expand its existing team of more than 30 employees dedicated to supporting Cleveland Clinic. The on-site presence will include technicians and training personnel, including expertise to support Cleveland Clinic’s development of a theranostics cancer-treatment program—an emerging approach that combines targeted imaging and therapy to personalize cancer care.
Siemens Healthineers and Cleveland Clinic also will work together to establish the Cleveland Clinic as a Center of Excellence for MRI technologist education, including providing expertise in ongoing clinical education, protocol optimization, technologist skill development, radiation-safety education, and support for physicians in expanding the use of CT into cardiology, radiation therapy, and image-guided procedures.
“Through our longstanding relationship with Cleveland Clinic, we have achieved important advances in the diagnosis and treatment of serious disease resulting from more than 100 research projects and 70 peer-reviewed publications. We look forward to many more years of innovation and continued positive impact on patient care,” stated John Kowal, president and head of the Americas at Siemens Healthineers.
The strategic alliance is expected to create opportunities for research, education, workforce development, and a foundation for innovation in the integration of intelligent software and automation into imaging workflows. In addition, Siemens Healthineers and Cleveland Clinic are exploring future initiatives focused on biomedical engineering training and clinical education geared toward workforce development, both at Cleveland Clinic and in the greater Cleveland region. The alliance will also contribute to broader economic development through investment in Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, job creation and continued growth in the Cleveland Innovation District.
